Waikīkī location expands immersive farm-to-cup 100% Kona coffee experience to Honolulu’s
premier visitor district

HONOLULU – May 13, 2026 – Hala Tree Coffee today announced the opening date of July 1,
2026 for its café located within The Lilia Waikīkī at 2380 Kūhiō Ave., Honolulu, HI 96815. A two-
week soft opening period is planned to begin June 17, offering guests an early preview ahead
of the official grand opening.

The Waikīkī opening marks an exciting new chapter in Hala Tree Coffee’s continued growth
across the Hawaiian Islands. Hala Tree Coffee has become known as a true farm-to-cup Kona
coffee brand—inviting guests to experience every part of the journey, from visiting the farm
where the coffee is grown, to enjoying handcrafted beverages in its cafés, to bringing freshly
roasted beans home through online and in-store retail.

Hala Tree Coffee produces and solely serves 100% Kona coffee sourced directly from its family-
owned farms in Captain Cook on Hawaiʻi Island.

“Our vision has always been to bring people closer to the source and share the story behind
every cup,” said Jean and Danielle Orlowski, founders of Hala Tree Coffee, who launched the
company in 2012. “Opening in Waikīkī allows us to welcome even more guests into that
experience—whether they’re discovering our Kona coffee for the first time or already love what
makes it so special.”

Designed as a welcoming retreat within the heart of Waikīkī, the new café will offer the local
community and visitors a moment of respite from the bustling streets outside and a place to
connect with 100% Kona coffee more intentionally. Featuring a clean, minimalist design with
industrial-modern touches, the space is designed to feel equally suited for visitors beginning
their day in Waikīkī, locals grabbing a bite before work, or remote workers settling in with
coffee and a laptop.

Guests can expect Hala Tree’s signature coffee creations made exclusively with 100% Kona
coffee, including unique seasonal offerings crafted by its talented baristas and new signature
drinks currently in development, alongside brewed espresso drinks, matcha, and refreshing
cold beverages.

The Waikīkī location will also feature a full on-site bakery led by award-winning pastry chef
Abigail Langlas, whose decades-long career spans acclaimed kitchens and pastry programs
across Hawaiʻi, France, and the United Kingdom. Langlas brings extensive experience in fine
pastry, artisan baking, and hospitality, including past roles with Alan Wong’s Restaurant,
Neiman Marcus, and her longtime Honolulu bakery, Cake Works. Guests can expect a rotating
selection of fresh pastries and baked goods prepared daily using locally sourced ingredients
whenever possible, alongside grab-and-go breakfast offerings and lunch selections designed
to complement Hala Tree’s 100% Kona coffee experience.
“Our cafés offer a rare kind of Kona coffee experience—where the same company serving your
cup also grows, harvests, processes and roasts the coffee,” said the Orlowskis. “That hands-on
stewardship allows us to protect quality and integrity at every stage. Whether guests visit us at
our new location in Waikīkī or brew Hala Tree at home, they can enjoy a true connection to the
story and people behind their coffee.”

Transparency remains a core value for Hala Tree Coffee—especially within a coffee industry that
has historically not always made sourcing, labor, processing or origin details visible to
consumers. Each retail bag of Hala Tree Coffee beans features a unique QR code that allows
customers to trace their coffee’s journey, including harvest timing, processing milestones and
roast information. By opening that process to customers, Hala Tree Coffee aims to build
deeper trust and a more meaningful connection to every cup of their 100% Kona coffee.
Since founding the business, Hala Tree Coffee has more than doubled in size, expanded its
farms and planted new coffee trees already producing exceptional beans. The Waikīkī opening
represents the next evolution of a brand built on hospitality and a deep respect for Hawaiʻi’s
coffee-growing heritage.
