HOW TO MAKE COLD BREW:
Equipment:
-
A large glass or plastic container with a lid (such as a mason jar)
-
Coffee filter or a fine-mesh sieve
-
Cheesecloth or a nut milk bag (optional, for finer straining)
Instructions:
-
Measure the Coffee: Measure out your coarsely ground coffee beans. If you have a kitchen scale, use it for accuracy.
-
Combine Coffee and Water: In your container, add the coarsely ground coffee beans. Pour in the cold, filtered water. The coffee-to-water ratio will depend on your preference for strength. A common starting point is 1 cup of coffee grounds for every 4 cups of water.
-
Stir: Gently stir the mixture to ensure that all the coffee grounds are saturated with water. Make sure there are no dry pockets of coffee.
-
Cover and Steep: Put the lid on the container and let it steep at room temperature. Cold brew coffee requires a longer steeping time, typically 12-24 hours. You can adjust the steeping time based on your taste preferences – the longer it steeps, the stronger and richer the cold brew will be.
-
Strain: After the steeping period, it's time to strain the cold brew to remove the coffee grounds. You can use a coffee filter, fine-mesh sieve, or a combination of both. If you want an even smoother brew, use cheesecloth or a nut milk bag during the straining process.
-
Dilute and Serve: Cold brew concentrate is quite strong, so it's typically diluted before serving. A common dilution ratio is one part cold brew concentrate to two parts water or milk. You can adjust this ratio based on your preference. Add ice, sweeteners, or milk if desired.
-
Enjoy: Your cold brew coffee is ready to enjoy! You can store any extra cold brew concentrate in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
-
Customize: Feel free to customize your cold brew with sweeteners like sugar, syrups, or flavored creamers, and add-ins like ice, cinnamon, or whipped cream to suit your taste

Spicy Kona Coffe-Ice/Hot Brew
I usually roast my own beans & yep, I'm a coffee snob. BUT this coffee blew my mind! It's the only roasted coffee I've purchased for years...I'm on my 3rd pound! Delicious, complex flavor!!
